Lord, may Your healing be in as much abundance as the dandelions are in the Spring. May we seek it, and find it everywhere.
I've been taking it as gently as I can these last several weeks, focusing on home and hearth and really honing in on what it means to find/build sanctuary. The decades-long heartache of a lost marriage and lost dreams is easing more and more by the day; now the task is intentionally tapping into the safety and peace we never had, but was waiting for us all along.
Simple things and innocent pleasures become mile markers on the way to peace. The quiet contentment of five minutes breathing deep while watching the ombre sunset go from orange and fuschia to lavender and blue calms nerves too long in fight/flight.
The younguns and I discovered we love eating dinner with candlelight, and the kitchen table has become my favorite part of the house. Soft instrumental praise music plays in the background, and I sit and journal in the evenings.
As I cooked dinner today with the lovely sunset streaming in the windows, I felt simple, innocent joy. Joy that we are safe, joy that this place finally feels like Home, joy that there is a future and a hope ahead of us where we can be the people God wishes us to be.
Joy that somehow, healing is finding us.
May it find you, too. ❤️
I love that you are enjoying the little things. That’s kind of my motto.
