In June 2023, I began my studies in Botanical Illustration through Cornell University’s School of Integrative Plant Sciences.

In January 2024 I began the final phase of my journey of studying plants, gaining greater mastery in graphite, ink, and watercolor, and exposure to other mediums.

The final class also introduced me to my favored medium: charcoal.

I completed my course of study in March 2024 with my capstone:
“Pisum sativum,” 18x12 inches, charcoal, sanguine, and chalk on toned paper.
Very, VERY impressive, Heather! Your talent has grown so much over the years. I love seeing all the new things you doing with your art. With everything new, you impress me even more!
