Today I am walking you through one way to solve the struggle many artists face, and that is how to make your own sketchbooks.
I often struggle with finding the kind of notebooks I prefer because they just are not that common, or they cost an arm and a leg to buy. However, if you’re enterprising, you can buy large sheets of your preferred paper in bulk and make your own.
To do this lesson, you will need the following:
A cutting mat or some kind of surface you won’t care if you put holes or cuts into it on accident
Awl
Exacto knife, scalpel, or other cutting blade
Needle
Thread; I find heavyweight thread or even dental floss works great
Paper slicer
Ruler/straightedge
Inner paper
Cardstock weight paper for the cover
Let’s get to it!
